We recently went to the beach together, with our families and our brother and his fiancé. We haven’t ever taken a vacation together without our parents, so we really felt like adults this time around, and it was fun to spend time with one another for an extended period of time in a getaway setting, as opposed to a dinner here or a party there which is what we’re used to.
Some of the highlights of our trip include the following:
- Patrick and Miriam discovered sand for the first real time. They both were at the beach at separate times last year, but they weren’t really able to play in the sand the same way as they could this time as toddlers who were able to walk around —wait, no: crawl, roll, and slide around getting every inch of their bodies covered—in sand.
- We celebrated Father’s Day with Dalton and Jonathan by giving them pipes and pipe tobacco that they could take with them on the beach and smoke together (note to self: bring matches and/or a lighter next time so this can actually happen instead of it remaining a pipe dream)
- Everyone surprised me with a cake for my birthday; it was all Oreo and chocolate and perfectly scrumptious. I also got some really cute presents like a "Scott's Tots Official Member" bro tank and a Coffee Cake Crumble candle from Baitx Made.
- We took tons of pictures and had dance parties, game nights, and delicious meals together. It was everything a beach party with your siblings should be.
